First ever AWOP Award!

26 March 19

Belton-Honea Path (BHP) Water Authority prides itself as a reliable provider of clean, safe water. They are a community water system providing water to the City of Belton, Town of Honea Path, Donalds-Due West Water Authority, Broadway Water and over 800 customers on their own distribution system. Their committed staff of 11 have over 60 years of combined water utility experience as they work day and night to upgrade and maintain 85 miles of pipe, two booster stations, and a 4-million gallon per day water treatment plant.

Recently, BHP Water Authority voluntarily enrolled in the Area-Wide Optimization Program (AWOP) to provide an increased – and sustainable – level of public health protection to their customers. Goals in the program are more stringent than regulations, and push utilities to an optimized level of excellence. In 2017, BHP Water Authority won their first ever AWOP award in the plant’s 51-year history!

The staff is continually looking to innovate and serve their customers in the most effective ways. They offer free tours of the plant and would be happy to host you and/or your group. Simply email mitch@bhp-water.com to coordinate or visit https://bhp-water.com/ to learn more.
